NEW YORK — The Columbia volleyball plan has introduced the addition of four incoming initial-yr university student-athletes that will be making up the class of ’27. Head Coach Patric Santiago made these additions to the 2023 roster formal Tuesday afternoon.
“We are so enthusiastic for the gains that our returning Lions are earning in the gym this spring and overjoyed for the class of ’27 to be a part of them in the slide,” Santiago explained. “This recruiting course is packed with volleyball expertise and as fantastic as they are as gamers, they are even greater human beings. Columbia will be brightened by their existence and our staff members can not hold out to do the job with them.”
Two of the future Lions, Madison Hsieh and Evie Naumann, appear from Austin, Texas, although the other two new faces, Kylee Eze and Avery Jones, are California natives. Madison Hsieh is a 5’4” defensive specialist/libero from Austin, Texas. Out of Vandegrift Superior Faculty, she performs for the Austin Skyline Volleyball Club. Hsieh was a member of the Nationwide Honor Culture in 2021 and 2022, and was a member of Vandergrift Robotics.
“Madi is an amazingly pushed college student and volleyball player,” Santiago said. “Her looking at of the activity, get the job done ethic and passion for defending will elevate Columbia Volleyball. Kylee Eze is a 6’3” opposite/appropriate side hitter from Santa Cruz, California. Out of Soquel Large College, she plays for the Vision Volleyball Club. Eze was the president of the Feminine Empowerment Club and a representative for cutback cleanups.

Evie Naumann is a 5’11” outside hitter from Austin, Texas. Out of Westlake Superior College, she plays for the Roots Volleyball Club. Naumann is a leukemia and lymphoma culture volunteer and acquired an English Academic Accomplishment Award in the classroom.
“Evie has a terrific all-about volleyball activity and a passion for bringing her absolute very best to all in which she endeavors,” Santiago reported. “She is an remarkable teammate and would increase the lifestyle of any schooling gym in The us. Avery Jones is a 6’1” exterior/opposite hitter from Studio Metropolis, California. Out of Harvard-Westlake Significant College, she performs for the Sunshine Volleyball Club. Jones was a member of the 2022 AVCA All-The us Observe Record. Her sister, Taylor Jones, graduated from Columbia in May perhaps of 2022.
